Conventions DO kind of help there. :) I hope you keep this and report on it next year as well. It'll really be neat to watch the growth. I used to beat my way through the LOTR tournament listings just to try and guess that sort of thing by how many tournaments were held each month/year.
Actually, convention attendance isn't included, though it should. For the longest time I didn't ask for specific numbers and as such convention event attendance have only recently been accurately reported.
